James Leroy Kile

January 8, 1922 — May 7, 2016

James L. Kile went to Heaven to join his beloved wife, Frances D. Kile, on the morning of Saturday, May 7, 2016. He was 94.

Born in Winder, Georgia to the late James Inman and Lula Giles Kile, James grew up in Athens, Georgia and graduated from Athens High School. Shortly after high school, he married the beautiful Frances DeLay and was drafted into the United States Army arriving in Normandy a month after D-Day. James proudly served his country during World War II and was awarded both a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star for his valor. He finished his military career with the rank of Private First Class.

In 1950, Mr. Kile joined Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base and retired as a foreman with the machine shop in 1976. He was of the Baptist faith and truly loved and lived his life by example always putting faith and family first. James will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife and parents, James was also preceded in death by his siblings, Earnest Kile, Jurelle Bramblett, Mamie Anderson, John Kile, Annie Mae Stalnaker, Lillian Dillard, and Samuel Edward Kile.

He leaves his memory behind with his loving children, James Inman Kile (Beverly) of Warner Robins, Waymon Kile (Joanne) of Bonaire, and Dell Bowlin (Bob) of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Kathryn Katz (David), Erin Kile, Carrie Pace (Daniel), Sarah Graham (Brandon), Matthew Kile, Lindsey Starley (Chad), Chris Cline (Lisa), Emily Bowlin, and Holly Gregory (David); seven great-grandchildren; and a number of adoring nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 10th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11th in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Following the service, Mr. Kile will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.

The family would like to express a warm 'thank you' to James' nurse, Amanda Walters with Serenity Hospice, and to his sitter, Shyniece Belcher with Visiting Angels, for their never-ending care and support given to Mr. Kile and his family.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of James to Serenity Hospice, 1057 N. Houston Rd., Warner Robins, GA 31093 or to Visiting Angels, 150 S. Houston Lake Rd. #1100, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
