James Richard Faucett

January 2, 1947 — July 30, 2021

James Richard “Jim” Faucett passed away on the morning of July 30, 2021 in Warner Robins, GA, after a long battle with throat cancer.

Jim was born in Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on January 2, 1947, and raised in his family home in Bellwood, Northport, Alabama. After graduating from The University of Alabama, Jim married his first wife, Nancy Cooke. Together, they had two children, Richard and Jennifer. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Jim served his country as a navigator for 22 years and retired having attained the rank of Major. After Jim’s retirement from the Air Force, Jim and family settled in Warner Robins where he enjoyed a second career as a financial and tax planner. After Nancy’s death in 2015, Jim was blessed to meet and love Sue Sharp, his precious wife for his final three years.

Jim loved Alabama Football (Roll Tide!), playing golf, and spending time with his grandkids. His deep faith and devotion to Christ sustained him through a difficult fight with throat cancer that he fought valiantly. Jim will be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who loved flying and serving his country faithfully.

Jim is survived by his wife, Sue Sharp Faucett; son, Richard P. Faucett; daughter, Jennifer F. Cote (Jeremy); step-daughter, Rebecca Hardy (Romley); and grandchildren, Ashlyn, Clayton, and Brooklyn Faucett.

Preceding him in death are his first wife, Nancy Cooke Faucett; parents, William Lewis Faucett and Mildred Elizabeth Black Faucett; and brothers, William Lewis Faucett, Jr. and Hollis Black Faucett.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 2, 2021, at McCullough Funeral Home, with memorial services immediately following at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. Jim will be laid to rest on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. CDT in Williamson Cemetery, Northport, Alabama.
