Jana Meador Bruner

On the evening of Wednesday, April 11, 2018, Jana Bruner, 56, passed at the Houston Medical Center.

Jana was born on June 29, 1961 in Macon, Georgia. Following high school, she received her undergraduate degree in business at Georgia College State University in Milledgeville. Jana then continued her education at Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University where she earned her Juris Doctor Degree and became a member of the Georgia Bar. Jana worked as an assistant District Attorney in Cordele, Georgia. Later she began her career at Central Georgia Technical College as an Instructor and Legal Chair of the paralegal department. She loved her job and singing with the praise team at her church. Jana enjoyed reading poems and John Grisham books. She was a collector of many things especially, Jim Shore figurines, John Perry Art Sculptures, owls, Old War Santa’s, and nutcrackers. Jana loved the Lord and being with her family, her time was devoted to spend with them.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her beloved husband of 36 years, Harry Phillip Bruner, Sr.; children, Harry Phillip Bruner, Jr. (Annette), Kent Jackson Bruner (Chris), Joseph Scott Bruner (Lindsay); grandchildren, Brittney Bunker, Dianna Jo Holley, Phillip Joseph Bruner, Jennifer Bruner, Kymber Bruner, Brooke Bruner, Allen Bruner, Zyre Bruner; one great-grandchild; father, Ronald Melford Meador; mom and dad, Kathleen Smith Mason and Charles J.W. Mason; sister, Rebecca Gates; brother, Ronald B. Meador; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as her special best friend, Christine Dillaman of St. Simons Island.

A memorial service to celebrate Jana’s life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 16, 2018 at First Christian Church of Perry. The family will receive friends one hour prior from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Jana Meador Bruner to the First Christian Church of Perry’s support of Family Promise, 1105 Main Street, Perry, Ga 31069.
