Jane Elizabeth Cash

September 18, 1936 — October 24, 2019

On Thursday, October 24, 2019, our beautiful and loving Jane Elizabeth Cash passed away to be with her Lord and Savior at age 83, at The Lodge Rehabilitation Center in Warner Robins, Georgia, after a decline in health. Jane was born the fourth of nine children on September 18, 1936, at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL, to the late William Cash and Ruth Thompson Cash of Nassau, Bahamas. Her parents raised her and her siblings in a loving home where they instilled strong Christian values while attending the AM Cohen Temple Church of God in Christ. Their parents also valued family and possessing a great work ethic.

Jane graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1954. She then obtained her administrative secretarial certification from Charron-Williams. Jane retired at the age of 62 after dedicating many years of service to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth Cash; three brothers, James “Jim”, Charles, and Clarence; four sisters, Shirley, Bessie, Dorothy, and Gloria; a grandson, Antwan; and a son-in-law, Eric Jones.

Jane is survived by her children, Debora Pierce (Aaron), Rosalyn Cash-Jones, and Jeffery Cash; a sister, Maud Reid; two sisters-in-law, Ida Cash and Wendy Cash; 12 grandchildren, Dwayne, Antoine, Shannon, Allison, Eric Jr., Christopher, Jeffery Jr., Jaquita, Bryant, Deontay, Tony, and Kenyetta; six great-grandchildren, Diondre, Taylor, Christian, Olivia, Elijah “William,” and Aiden; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Jane, better known as “Janie” by those who loved and cared for her, had the passion of being an avid sports fan; some would even probably call her a fanatic sports fan! She also enjoyed traveling, reading, writing and sending personalized cards to family and friends, playing cards, and talking to family and “friend girls” on the phone. We called her “the telephone lady.” Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and caring for her grandchildren. She was also a dedicated member of Elks Antlers Temple NO. 39, IBPOE of W.

Jane was truly a special soul who had a bright and vibrant personality like no other. She was known for being a loving, giving, fun, hardworking, sassy, supportive, and genuinely good person to all who knew her. She was always there when you needed her, and even at times when you did not know you did. Jane touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life, and she will forever be missed. However, we will keep all the beautiful memories we shared of her in our hearts, and that will without a doubt bring a smile to our faces and joy in our hearts.

On this 2nd day of November in 2019, we are gathering for a Celebration of Life for Jane Elizabeth Cash from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at McCullough Funeral Home. Family and friends will fellowship together at The Farmhouse located on the grounds of McCullough Funeral Home following visitation.
