Jane Laffey

July 23, 1921 — August 16, 2019

Jane Laffey, 98, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on the morning of August 16, 2019. Born in Ferndale, Michigan, Jane was the daughter of the late James Stephen Bell and Mary Edna Cooper. She lived in Florida for most of her life. Jane was an excellent tap dancer who taught dance and organized many senior dance groups. Seven years ago, Jane moved from the On Top of the World retirement community in Ocala, Florida to Warner Robins, Georgia to be closer to her family. In her free time, Jane loved to bowl and loved camping all over the country with her husband, Bill. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend, who will be missed by all of those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Henry Laffey.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Lynda J. Cooper of Arlington, Virginia, and Lorrie Burns (Ortis) of Warner Robins, Georgia; grandchildren, Sharon Burns of Warner Robins and David Burns of Panajachel, Guatemala.
At the family’s request, all services are private.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests donations be given in memory of Jane Laffey to Hospice of Marion County, 3231 SW 34th Ave, Ocala, Florida 34474 or Compassus Hospice, 1100 Northside Crossing, Macon, Georgia 31210.
