Jeffery Carlton Hutcheson

Jeffery Carlton Hutcheson passed from this earth to his heavenly home on Monday, May 18, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.

Jeff was born on April 25, 1964, in Brunswick, Georgia to James and Sue Hutcheson. After attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, he graduated from Treutlen County High School in 1982. He married Jean Flury Hutcheson on October 19, 1996, and they would have celebrated twenty-four years of marriage this October 19. Jeff lived his life to the fullest and was involved in many different activities and organizations. He was a Mason and a Shriner, as well as a Life Sponsor of Ducks Unlimited. An avid sportsman, he also served as former State Chairman and Treasurer for the Georgia chapter of Ducks Unlimited. After working for more than thirty years, Jeff retired from Robins Air Force Base as a C2ISR Division Security Branch Chief. During his life, he enjoyed many activities including hunting, fishing, golfing, metalworking, woodworking, scuba diving, and camping. Jeff was a member of Corinth United Methodist Church. Family and friends were always important to Jeff, and he was well-loved by numerous friends and family members who will miss him greatly. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sue Powers Hutcheson, and his brother, William Jason Hutcheson.

His memory will forever be treasured by his adoring wife of twenty-three years, Jean Flury Hutcheson; his father, James Carlton Hutcheson (Neva Jo) of Soperton; his brother, Jonathan Lee Hutcheson (JoHanna) of Soperton; his nieces, Madison Lee Hutcheson, Lanie Jo Hutcheson, and Cloey Kay Hutcheson, all of Soperton; his nephew, Drake William Hutcheson of Soperton; his fur babies, Gretchen and Gunner; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

Visitation with Jeff’s family will be Wednesday, May 20, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The graveside memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2020, at Corinth United Methodist Church Cemetery in Kite, Georgia with Reverend Tommy Veal and Reverend Wesley Webb officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to Shriners Hospital for Children at www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/shc/donate.
