Jeffrey Duane Stapleton

Jeffrey Duane Stapleton passed away on Friday, July 27, 2018 from complications of Hemochromatosis. He was 64.

Jeff was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on November 30, 1953 and was raised by his late uncle and aunt, Clyde and Frances Felker. His parents were George and Louise Stapleton of Charlotte. A descendant of George Lawson Stapleton of Stapleton, Georgia, he graduated from Georgia College and lived in Atlanta for over 30 years where he was a successful medical sales representative for Sunrise Medical and Byrum Healthcare. Jeff was honored to receive the National Sales Representative of the Year Award many times. He retired to Warner Robins 10 years ago and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Jeff loved working, but also loved to relax and have fun. In his free time, you could find him fishing, hunting, cheering on the “Dawgs,” listening to Elvis, and taking a Sunday drive with his beloved dog in his red convertible Corvette. Jeff was also a master gardener, an avid Elvis fan, and he won “Best Ribs” at the Stone Mountain Pig Jig.

In addition to his aunt, uncle, and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George David Stapleton III.

Jeff’s memory will forever be treasured by his loving sister, Linda Stapleton Meade of Warner Robins; sister-in-law, Margaret Stapleton of Newport, Rhode Island; nieces and nephews, Todd, Jeff, April, Tyler, and Garnie; five great-nephews; favorite cousin, Dodie Stapleton Shaw of Charlotte, North Carolina; six grandnephews; one grandniece; and his beloved Sheltie, “Sammy.”

Visitation will be Monday, July 30, 2018, from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterwards, Jeff will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Mausoleum.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Jeff to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mr. Stapleton’s arrangements.
