Jewel Ellington

Jewel Ellington entered into rest on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the age of 85.

Jewel was born on January 9, 1930 in Pike County, Georgia to the late Benjamin Eugene and Thelma Mable Self. A resident of Warner Robins for the past 45 years, she dedicated over 20 years as a cafeteria manager at Macon State College before retiring. Jewel was an avid reader and loved her family dearly. They will always treasure the wonderful memories that she has left behind. Jewel was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Jonathan Free Ellington; four brothers, and three sisters.

She leaves behind her devoted children, Alan Rex Ellington (Vivian) of Bonaire and Patti Ellington Russell of Gainesville; grandsons, Nick Dickerson, Jimmy Lambert (Michelle) and Jason Lambert; great-grandchildren, Marine Sgt. Hayden Lambert (Ashley), and Sydney Lambert; sister, Rosa B. James of Macon; and nieces and nephews, Ray Berryhill, Lynn Leacroy, Gary Self, Debbie Royal, Frank Cloud, Sandra Cloud, Roy Smith, Ann Garner, Jimmy Self and Linda Goodson.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 1, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015 in Upson Memorial Gardens, Thomaston, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Jewel Ellington to Alzheimer's Association, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201.
