Joann Eaves

Mrs. JoAnn Eaves went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 23, 2020. She was 88 years old.

JoAnn was born on February 22, 1932, to the late John T. and Willeen Baker. She was a loving homemaker who enjoyed cooking for her family, especially around the holidays. JoAnn loved baking also; her family’s two favorites were her famous “Nut Cake” and brownies. She was the happiest when everyone was gathered together at her home.

JoAnn loved flowers, any and all kind. She had a beautifully manicured lawn, with a wide variety of flowers. Her husband could often be found handpicking a bouquet for her to enjoy. Although she loved all kinds of flowers, her favorite was a fully opened red rose.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Mr. Doyle Eaves; two sons and their spouses; three grandchildren and their spouses; two great-grandchildren; and one sister.

Current Covid-19 restrictions in place also affect funeral customs and traditions; as a result, a private graveside service just for Joanne’s family will take place on Tuesday, April 28, 2020, in Andersonville National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be sent directly to their charity of choice or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
