John C. Bazemore

John C. Bazemore, 89, entered into rest on Saturday, June 20, 2015.

John was born on August 16, 1925 in Hawkinsville and was of the Baptist faith. Growing up in Byron, he was a 1942 graduate of Byron High School and attended Georgia Tech. John proudly joined the United States Army Air Corps where he served as a Combat Veteran during World War II. There, he participated in the Battle of the Bulge and was one of the brave heroes who landed on Omaha Beach. Following his military career, John was a supervisor for engineering and planning at Robins Air Force Base where he retired as a civil servant. He was also a building contractor for several subdivisions in Warner Robins. John was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Archibald and Muriel Anderson Bazemore; and brothers, Frank A. Bazemore and James Kay Bazemore.

John's memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 29 years, Faith Bazemore; sons, Dr. Kenneth C. Bazemore (Sally) and David L. Churchwell (Ronya); six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Ann Bazemore Jones (Travis); and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. John will be laid to rest in Byron City Cemetery following the service.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of John to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
