John Elkins, Jr.

John W. Elkins, Jr., 47, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2005 in his home in Gulfport, Mississippi. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 4, 2005, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Friday, November 4, 2005 from 9:30 until 11:00 AM at McCullough Funeral Home.

Mr. Elkins was born on September 21, 1958 at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He was a member of the Elk’s Lodge 978 in Gulfport, Mississippi where he served as a trustee. He worked as a Tax Assessor at Harrison County Tax office in Gulfport, Mississippi and also served his country in the United States Army. His father, John William Elkins, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his mother, Anita McDonald and step-father, Joel “Mac” McDonald, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; sister, Angela “Missy” Hartman, Warner Robins; step-brothers, Jay McDonald, New Jersey; Scott McDonald, Texas; niece, Ashley Hartman, Warner Robins; aunt, Fran Mitchell, Warner Robins; friend, JoAndra Wallace, Gulfport, Mississippi; several cousins.
