John Halsey Crutcher

May 18, 1952 — August 19, 2021

John Halsey Crutcher, 69, found peace on Thursday, August 19, 2021, in Warner Robins, GA. John was born on May 18, 1952, in Salisbury, Maryland, to Tom and Bettie Ann Crutcher of Chincoteague, VA. John’s father was in Civil Service for the Navy taking the family to China Lake, CA, Kaneohe, Oahu, HI, then to Cape Canaveral, FL, during the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962.

John graduated from Satellite High School in Satellite Beach, FL where he was heavily involved in sports, including wrestling and football. He told us an awful lot about his pitching in baseball, which he absolutely loved. Following high school, John earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography (Geo-Mapping databases and Mapping for city & county planning) from the University of South Florida in Tampa. John put his degree to work gaining employment with the city of Tampa mapping and planning. John also owned a furniture store, worked as a substitute teacher, then worked for Mindspring, EarthLink, and finally Best Western where he had worked in the IT call center for the last 19 years.

He loved history, woodworking, drawing, and was very proud of the kazoo, his sister, Leslie, made for him that was crafted from the very wood he used to wrestle on in his high school gymnasium.

John married Elisabeth on December 5, 2008 in Glendale, AZ. They moved to Warner Robins, GA in November 2019.

John Crutcher’s memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 13 years, Elisabeth; his brother, Tom (Joan); sister, Leslie (Phil); daughter, Kelly; nieces, Megan and Page; great-nieces, Brenna and Rowen; and great-nephews, Wilder, Esca, and Finnegan.

The family wishes to have a small Celebration of Life with family on Wednesday, August 25, 2021. Following, they will receive friends between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM at 102 Blue Ridge Ln., Warner Robins.
