John Jefferson "Jeff" Carson

Jeff Carson, loving father, son, brother, and uncle, joined his Father in heaven on Wednesday, October 30, 2019. He was 59 years old.

Jeff was born in Fort Valley, Georgia on August 22, 1960. A 1978 graduate of Tucker High School in Tucker, Georgia, he was a Regional Vice President for Primerica for over 10 years and was the original proprietor of the Big Peach Antiques and Collectibles Mall in Byron. Jeff was also a self-taught master carpenter and machinist; he had a passion for construction and fixing things for most of his life. He did a lot of decking, remodeling, and tilework; there wasn’t much he couldn’t do. Jeff’s latest project was a hand-crafted reclaimed wood table for his son and his new bride.

Long known for his positive outlook on life, Jeff was extremely extroverted and was loved by all. He always had a special way with kids which really helped as he tutored school children in math and other studies. Jeff was described as a special dad who was always gentle, easygoing, and loving no matter what. Another word to describe Jeff would be dreamer; he always had a vision and encouraged others to do the same and find their own paths. His strength, perseverance, and triumphant spirit was untouched by his year long battle with cancer.

He was preceded in death by his father, John K. Carson, Sr.

Jeff is survived by his loving children, Cindy Carson and Dylan Carson (Lindsey); his mother, Beverly H. Carson; his brothers, Jim Carson (Lori) and John K. Carson, Jr. (Beverly); niece, Elizabeth Ann Carson; nephew, John K. Carson III; and many cousins and treasured friends.

Family and friends will celebrate Jeff’s life with a memorial gathering at the Farmhouse at McCullough Funeral Home on Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
