John M. Dean

John Dean, 84, joined his beloved wife of 59 years, Wynell Dean in heaven on the evening of Thursday, November 17, 2016.

John was born one of ten children born to the late John M. and Eleanor O'Neil Dean in Cochran, Georgia on September 18, 1932. He retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base and pastored several Pentecostal Holiness churches in the middle Georgia area.

A dedicated, loving husband and father, Rev. Dean had a caring disposition that was exuded to anyone he came in contact with. He was a wonderful communicator and his "gift of gab" proved him to be an excellent holder of conversation. He never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to any and every one about any topic. A determined worker, John thrived on maintaining his yards through the seasons as long as he was physically able.

He leaves his memory behind with his loving daughters, Joy Silverman (Deke) and Shelia Dean, both of Colleyville, Texas; his son, Barry Dean (Jennifer) of Byron; grandchildren, Dara Silverman, Trey Newman, Jena Hathcock, and Justin Scardina; five great-grandchildren; and siblings, Buddy Dean (Gladys) and Anna Hartley (Monroe), both of Macon.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 20th from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21st in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with the Rev. Deke Silverman officiating. Afterwards, Rev. Dean will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
