John Maloy Phillips

John Phillips passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 12, 2016. He was 69.

Born in McRae, Georgia to Henry M. and the late Jean Walker Phillips, John was a veteran of the United States Army where he courageously served his country during the Vietnam War. Following his military career, he moved to the Middle Georgia area where he was a resident for over 40 years and a member of The Assembly at Warner Robins. Mr. Phillips retired from Lucas Aerospace in Macon.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving children, Sonya Marie Martin (Brian) of Moore, South Carolina, Sharon Vanessa Morgan of Byron, and Cherry Lynne Phillips of Warner Robins; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Kathryn Berrong of Jeffersonville, Indiana and Sheila Powell of Macon; and a number of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 16th in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. After the service, Mr. Phillips will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of John Phillips to the Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia, 774 Hazel St., Macon, GA 31201 or to The Assembly at Warner Robins, 6040 Watson Blvd, Byron, GA 31008.
