Johnny Calvin Petty

Johnny Calvin Petty entered into rest on the morning of Monday, July 25, 2022. He was 85 years old.

Born in Cleburne, Texas, on January 14, 1937, Johnny was the son of the late Oley Petty and Inez Murray Petty. He served in the United States Air Force before working in aircraft maintenance on Robins Air Force Base until his retirement in 1999.

With a love for horses, Johnny was a part of the American Quarter Horse Association. He showed for several years with his horse companion, “Reger.” Johnny also enjoyed listening to old country music, woodworking in his workshop, and many years of deer hunting and camping with his friends.

In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his siblings, M.L. Petty and L.J. Petty.

His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife of 61 years, Carolyn Bozeman Petty; son, Michael “Mike” Petty (Brenda); granddaughter, Carolyn Petty; cousin, Fay Murray Johnson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 27, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Tommy Odum officiating. Afterward, Johnny will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
