Jon Allen Nixon, 70, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 28, 2013.

Mr. Nixon was born on September 17, 1943 in Bangor, Maine to the late John Porter Nixon and Iris Tozer Nixon. Jon was a lifelong resident of Middle Georgia and a graduate of Warner Robins High School. A 1967 graduate of the University of Georgia and 1969 graduate of the Cumberland Law School of Samford University, Jon had deep ties to the local community where he practiced law for over forty years. In addition to his private practice, Nixon & Nixon Attorneys at Law, Mr. Nixon served as Prosecutor Pro Tem for the Municipal Court of Warner Robins; served as Indigent Defense Counsel for the Municipal Court of Warner Robins, and served as Judge Pro Tem for the Municipal Court of Centerville and the State Court of Houston County. His memberships include, State Bar of Georgia, American Bar Association, Houston County Bar Association, Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, U.S. District Courts Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, Supreme Court of the United States, Court of Appeals of Georgia, and Supreme Court of Georgia. Jon completed hundreds of hours of training dedicated to various areas of criminal law. He was extremely active in various charitable endeavors, Jon was a Mason with Tyrian Lodge #111, and he was a Shriner. Jon was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan, skier, hunter, and scuba diver. He and his wife, Pat, were enthusiastic Cowboy shooters. Jon was most passionate about spending time with his family and traveling.

His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife of forty four years, Pat Nixon, Kathleen; son, Michael A. Nixon (Amanda), granddaughter, Miranda Nixon, all of Del Mar, California; sister, Gayle Keeling (Wendell), Athens; sister in law, Tracy Wallace (Jim), Albany; niece, Shelly Wallace, nephews, Jake Wallace, Chris Keeling, and Wynn Etheridge.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 30, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2013 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
