Jonnie Rountree

Jonnie Rountree, 68, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, May 26, 2016.

Born on October 12, 1947, Jonnie was a daughter of the late Alvin and Lucille Hubbard Smith. On May 15, 1965, she married the love of her life, Wade Rountree, and from that day, they started a loving family filled with God's love. Jonnie was a longtime member of Shirley Hills Baptist Church where she also taught Sunday School Class.

Jonnie enjoyed being bookkeeper for the family's businesses, Wade's Men's Shop and Polly's La Mesa Mexican Restaurant. She had a deep love for her grandchildren and animals, especially her dogs.

She leaves her memory behind with her devoted husband of 51 years, Wade Rountree, Sr. of Macon; children, Lisa Coody (Mitch) of Kathleen, and Wade Rountree, Jr. and Julie Robinson (Ray), both of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Emilee and Tucker Coody; sisters, Polly Carranza of Warner Robins and Thelma Stanford (Phillip) of Gray; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 29th at Shirley Hills Baptist Church with Dr. Napp Granade officiating. There will be no graveside service following the memorial service. The family will receive friends before the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Jonnie to the Humane Society of Houston County, Inc., P.O. Box 9588, Warner Robins, GA 31095 or to the
American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street Suite A, Macon, GA 31201.
