Joseph R. Stingl

December 5, 1942 — September 8, 2022

Christian, Vietnam veteran, fisherman, RV camper, and bluegrass fan, Joseph Robert “Joe" Stingl, entered into heaven in the early morning hours of Thursday, September 8, 2022. This followed a long battle with cancer in which Joe courageously fought using all his might until the very end.

Joe was born to Raymond and Ina Stingl in Duluth, Minnesota, on December 5, 1942. In 1961, he proudly enlisted in the United States Navy. Following his military service, Joe worked at Sears and retired after 33 years.

On September 7, 1968, Joe married the love of his life, Nancy and together they had three children. He was able to celebrate his 54th wedding anniversary with Nancy the day before he passed away. Joe tirelessly worked to provide an amazing lifestyle for his wife and children. He built three houses for his family, one in Minnesota, and two in Georgia.

Joe also served the Lord in many capacities through Assembly of God churches, including the Royal Rangers and RV Volunteers of the Assemblies of God. He left a godly legacy that is evidenced in the way his children love the Lord. It was obvious that he made his wife, kids and grandkids a priority. Joe also loved his fellow military vets, church family and friends. Anyone who knew Joe knew he was always ready to lend a helping hand to fix an appliance or remodel a house. You will rarely find a man as generous with his time and talents as Joe.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother and his brother, Terry Stingl.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 54 years, Nancy Stingl; children, Jennifer Woodcock, Jonathan Stingl and Jeremiah Stingl (Bianca); grandchildren, Makani Stingl and Kai Stingl; sisters, Judy Schellinger and Kathy Stingl; and brother, Larry Stingl.

A funeral service will take place on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at The Assembly at Warner Robins, in Georgia, beginning with a visitation at 2:00 p.m. If you would like to watch a live stream of the funeral service, please go to The Assembly at Warner Robins Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/theassemblyga/.  There will be a second memorial service honoring Joe on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Duluth Gospel Tabernacle, 1515 W.
