Joyce L. Rosemary

October 21, 1941 — January 27, 2021

Early on the morning of Wednesday, January 27, 2021, Joyce L. Rosemary, 79, went to be with the Lord. A generous and gentle woman, Joyce was a person who was always there to lend a helping hand or ear to listen to others concerns. She made everyone feel part of her family. Joyce treated everyone fairly and never raised her voice.

A Detroit native, Joyce was born on October 21, 1941, to the late Charles and Viola Kersten Beguhn. Her memory will forever be treasured by her beloved husband of 43 years, Marion Eugene Rosemary. The couple eloped July 5, 1978, getting married in a small ceremony at the Justice of the Peace office in Roscommon, Michigan. She is survived by her children, Maureen Sutter (Bernie), Sean Houlihan (Connie), Chris Rosemary-Clark (Fred) and Beverly Guertin (Perry); grandchildren, Thomas, Cailynn, Elizabeth, Matthew, Terrilynn and Kyle; and siblings, Lois Stechow and Ronald Beguhn. She was a second mother to her nieces and nephews in Georgia, Michigan and Montana. Her monthly phone calls to her family and friends will be tremendously missed.

She was raised on the Eastside of Detroit before moving to St. Helen in the early 1970s. Joyce took a position at Carter’s grocery store working as a cashier before becoming the general merchandise manager, a position she held until her retirement in the mid-1990s. In Joyce’s spare time, she enjoyed camping (even in the backwoods without electric and running water), volunteering serving veterans, military, and their families as a member and the past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 416 in St. Helen for more than 20 years, assisted with Roscommon County jury selection, and fellowshipping with her friends and family. Joyce will be remembered as a positive, fun, and selfless person, who loved and supported her family.

In addition to her parents, her brothers, Robert, Charles, Marvin and Kenneth, preceded her in death.

At the family's request, all services are private. Her final resting spot will be Fairview Cemetery in St. Helen.
