Judd Kerr Stafford

August 31, 1919 — June 21, 2007

Judd Kerr Stafford, 87, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2007.

Judd Stafford was born in Louisiana, August 31, 1919, the youngest son of Josephine Robichaux Stafford and William Law Stafford. He grew up in the Masonic Children’s home in Lafayette, Louisiana with the love and encouragement of his brothers, Anthony William “Bill” Stafford, Joseph Oliver “Boots Stafford and sisters, Emily Stafford Brosmer and Katherine Stafford Besse. He joined the armed forces as a young man. It was as an Air Force MSgt. that he came to Warner Robins where he met and married his beloved Mildred and became a father-figure to her three sons, Vic, Tony and Noel Robbins. In May of 2000, his beloved wife, Mildred Screws Stafford, preceded him in death.

Retiring from the Air Force, Judd continued to work at Robins Air Force Base as a civilian for several more years. He delighted in the simple pleasures of life, laughter and family. He was truly a “family man.” He was an avid golfer, a Mason, a dedicated member of the Shrine Clown unit, an enthusiastic collector of antiques, a self-taught musician whose love for the “Cajun” sound never diminished, a long time member of First Presbyterian Church and a humble servant of the Lord. Judd was always generous, happy, and joyful in all circumstances.

He will be greatly missed by his three step-sons, Emory Victor Robbins (Reggie), Robert Anthony Robbins (Carolyn), Leonard Noel Robbins (Jo), nephews, Billy Judd Stafford (Joan), Jody Stafford (Doreene), Ronald Besse, nieces; Stephanie Moreland (Ronald), Barbara Saulque, Carol Roth, nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 25, in First Presbyterian Church in Warner Robins with interment following in Parkway Memorial Gardens. The family may be contacted at the home of Noel Robbins, 25 Willow Lake Drive, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
