Judith Ann "Judy" Bexten

November 19, 1943 — July 10, 2015

Judy Bexten, 71, entered into rest on Friday, July 10, 2015 while a patient at Spalding Regional Hospital in Griffin, Georgia.

Judy was born in Bennettsville, South Carolina on November 19, 1943 to the late Col. LeRoy Moore, USAF (Ret.) and Judith Ann Gibson Stanton. She married Col. Richard C. Bexten, USAF (Ret.) and they spent nearly fifty years together. After 10 months apart they are finally together again. Judy was a wonderful mother and devoted wife who supported her husband throughout his military career. She attended Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina, was a Master Gardener, enjoyed painting and loved sailing in her younger years.

She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline McKenzie Bexten Lankford and granddaughter, Avery McKenzie Lankford, both of Warner Robins; sister, Sally McCarter of Laurinburg, North Carolina and her children, Harrison Slaughter of Laurinburg, North Carolina, Miller Vrnak (Joseph) of Pine Bluff, North Carolina and her daughter, Parker John Slaughter-Vrnak, and Mary John Ventre (Casey) of Southern Shores, North Carolina and her son, Quinn Ventre.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at The Farmhouse at McCullough Funeral Home following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be given in memory of Judith Stanton Bexten to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the charity of your choice.
