Julian Earl Alexander

August 25, 1943 — November 17, 2020

Julian Earl Alexander, decorated combat veteran of the Vietnam War, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, surrounded by those who loved him best. He was 77 years old.

Born in San Luis Obispo, California on August 25, 1943, Julian was the son of the late Charlton and Martha Franz Alexander. He moved with his family in 1946 to Warner Robins and was a proud 1962 graduate of Warner Robins High School. After graduation, Julian was drafted to serve his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War; he served with honor and with distinction as a soldier. Julian came home from Vietnam and met Annette Perkins not long after. They were happily married on September 3, 1970 and settled into a wonderful life together.

Julian was never one to let the grass grow under his feet! He attended Middle Georgia College and graduated from Georgia College and State University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business within four years. This was all while working two full-time jobs to support his growing family! Following his time in college, Julian began working as a painting contractor and later owned his own business called Alexander Painting and Home Repairs. He finally retired in 2014. Julian loved working but always looked forward to spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. As the kids grew up, he supported them while coaching their ball teams and umpiring. Julian also volunteered his free time to Habitat for Humanity and Rebuilding Together. He was a faithful member of Unity Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and served as a deacon for 25 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Taylor Jeffreys.

Julian is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Annette Alexander, and their three children, Danny Alexander (Elizabeth), Andrea Jackson (Clint), and Jeff Alexander (Ann), all of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Hunter Jackson (Kayci), Baylee Duernberger, Landon Duernberger, Maggie Alexander, and Kendall Jackson; and siblings, Richard Alexander, Brenda Aldridge, and Michael Alexander.

Julian’s family will receive friends at Unity Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. A memorial service celebrating Julian’s life will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the church. Julian will be laid to rest in a private graveside memorial service for his family at Magnolia Park Cemetery.

For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Julian to Rebuilding Together Warner Robins, P.O. Box 8664, Warner Robins, GA 31095.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with these arrangements.
