June Elizabeth Currens

June Currens, 91, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 3, 2016.

June was born on January 12, 1925 in Cayuga, Indiana to the late Albert and Ethel Sollars Fortner. She was a career homemaker, fully devoting herself to her family, especially to her special needs son. Mrs. Currens was also very involved with the American Legion Auxiliary Post 317 in Greentown, Indiana, and spent her free time enjoying flowers and gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Darwin H. Currens.

June's memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, Ferrilyn Welsh (Mike Drake) of Greenville, South Carolina, Joe Currens of Hawkinsville, Christy Bramel (Mike) of Summitville, Indiana, and Glenn Currens of Hawkinsville; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 14th at Harmony Christian Church, 9043 W. 1800 N. State Road 13, Elwood, Indiana.
