Karen Elizabeth Jahns

September 8, 1942 — April 26, 2018

Karen Jahns, passed away at her home on April 26, 2018, at 75 years old.

Karen was born on September 8, 1942 in Akron, Ohio to the late Ralph and Doris Nagy. She affected everyone around her in a loving and giving way. A loving mother, Karen raised her family while volunteering as a Coordinator for the Meals on Wheels Organization in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, for many years. Later, she and her family relocated to Perry where she worked as a church secretary and in several doctors’ offices. Karen was constantly visiting or sending letters to shut-ins and knitting baby hats for premature babies. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her beloved family especially having fun with her grandchildren. Karen had a God given talent for cheering people up and getting them to laugh or smile no matter the circumstances. Her sister, Beverly Smith, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of 54 years, Robert Lee Jahns; children, Patricia Lawton (Thomas), Edward Jahns (Beth), David Jahns (Boots); grandchildren, Anna Jahns, Sarah Jahns, Elizabeth Jahns, Ian Lawton, Sophia Jahns, and brother, Eugene Nagy (Jill).

Visitation will be Saturday, May 5, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial service to celebrate Karen’s life will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of McCullough.
