Karen Ruth Johnson

Karen Johnson, 61, passed away on the morning of Wednesday, April 13, 2016 following a courageous seven year battle with cancer.

On November 26, 1954, Karen was born in Greenville, Mississippi to the late Harry Dewayne "Pete" and Mavis Garner Robinson. She was employed for over 42 years at Robins Air Force Base before retiring as a Human Resources Officer with the Non-Appropriated Funds Personnel. She also co-owned and operated Vintage Junktion on Watson Boulevard. Karen had a passion for "junkin" and traveling with her sister and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Cam Weigart.

Karen's memory will forever be treasured by her son, Jason Bright (Libby Guerry) of Pensacola, Florida; grandchildren, Alex Bright of Douglasville, Georgia and Pearl Bright of Pensacola, Florida; sister, Kandy Weigart of Cleveland, Tennessee; best friends and caretakers, Dana Boone Henderson, Leah Hunkins and Bonnie Harris; former spouse, Phillip Johnson; and a number of cousins, other family and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, April 15th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 16th in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. At the family's request, the burial will be private.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Karen to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry St, Ste A., Macon, GA 31201.
