Kevin Carl Pruett

Mr. Kevin Carl Pruett, 55, passed away unexpectedly February 6, 2017. He was born in Bibb County, GA on May 21, 1961. Kevin was a member of Northside High School's Class of 1979. He attended Georgia Southern college and later started work with Brown & Williamson in GA. After 25 years, Kevin transferred to R. J. Reynolds in NC after their merger, retiring with 30 years of service. As a young man, he was an avid skateboarder and even built ramps and parks. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles, shooting billiards, and playing ping pong. Kevin was an Atlanta Braves fanatic and followed them frequently. He loved spending time with his three grandchildren who affectionately called him "PopPop". Kevin was a loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, and uncle who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Rowell Gaultney, father, John Carl Pruett and a special aunt, Evelyn Gaultney Marshall.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Julia Pruett; two sons, Christopher Tyler Pruett and Eric Justin Pruett (Cameron Stover); three grandchildren: McKenzie Jade Kennedy, Arlo Ritchie Pruett, and Dawson Matthew Price; father, Fred Julian Gaultney; sister, Cherie Pruett Bedsole; three nieces, Melissa King (James), Misty Lowe, Lacie Grous; two nephews, Harly Grous, Tory Grous; sister-in-law, Connie Jarriel; brother-in-law, Marty Grous; three aunts, Helen Rowell Manning (Gene); Betty Ann Bostic; Connie Rowell; and a host of extended family and friends.

A memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral home with visitation one hour prior.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or to the American Cancer Society.
