Lawrence Karl Sokol

Lawrence Karl Sokol, age 73, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of Monday, July 26, 2021. He was born in Passaic, New Jersey on September 18, 1947, the son of the late Andrew and Anna Kosmider Sokol. Lawrence retired with several years at LDC Aerospace as a maintenance supervisor, a career he truly loved as he was able to work with his hands. He was a gifted woodworker and artist who loved making furniture, painting and drawing. Lawrence was also an incredible mechanic; his hands were continually on wrenches as he enjoyed working in his garage on his own car and on others. He was an avid animal lover, especially of horses and dogs and will be remembered for his giving spirit and readiness to help anyone in need.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Carolyn Rackley Sokol; sons, Bobby Hutchinson (Charlotte) and Shawn Hutchinson (Kelly); eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Andy Sokol.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2021, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Lawrence will be privately laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
