Lena Peterman Salter

Lena Peterman Salter, 87, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, May 9, 2014.

Lena was born on July 24, 1926, in Thomaston, Georgia to the late Troy and Estelle Peterman. As the wife of Reverend Rastus Salter who pastored Second Baptist Church for forty-eight years, she was a faithful church member and example to all of a lady of grace. Lena enjoyed gardening and bird watching. She loved reading her Bible. Her husband, Isaac F. "Rastus" Salter, children, Greg Salter and Janet Salter Condon, and sister, Lannis Barfield, all preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Glen Salter (Dryden), Atlanta; Gary Salter (Linda), Alpharetta; Gil Salter (Connie), Cartersville; Jean Fuller (Robert), Charlotte, North Carolina; Joy Brantley (Tim), Warner Robins, thirteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and brother, Troy F. Peterman (Colleen), Satellite Beach, Florida.

Visitation will be Monday, May 12, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Second Baptist Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to the Second Baptist Church Building Fund, 2504 Moody Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
