Leonard M. "Lennie" Sayre

October 28, 1946 — April 23, 2020

Leonard M. Sayre, 73, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020.

Lennie was born in Charleston, West Virginia, to the late Dellos M. Sayre and Julia Maxine Price-Sayre, on October 28, 1946. Prior to retiring in 2011, he worked at Anchor Glass, formerly Midland Glass, in the mold shop as a mold maker. Lennie moved to Warner Robins in 1973.

An avid hunter and fisherman, he loved the outdoors and taught his three children to love it as well. Lennie worked long hours but always made time to take his family on weekend camping trips and fishing trips. When Lennie’s two sons were old enough, he took them hunting. He even took his oldest grandson, Jeremiah, deer hunting with him. Lennie was so happy and proud when Jeremiah killed his first buck. He absolutely loved the woods!

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Terry Wayne Sayre; his grandson, Jason Sayre; and his sister, Linda K. Dunlap.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Dreama Sayre; his daughter, Tina Stephens (Russell) of Warner Robins; his son, Michael Sayre (Judy) of Warner Robins; nephew, Jeffery Dunlap; grandchildren, Mylissa, Jeremiah, Justin, Lindsey, and Aaron; six great-grandchildren; and two Boston Terriers, Sassy and Sissy, who he loved and spoiled rotten.

At the family’s request, all services will be private.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with these arrangements.
