Lewanna Couey Patterson

LeWanna Couey Patterson, 56, entered into rest on Thursday, April 20, 2023.

LeWanna was born on February 28, 1967, in Macon, Georgia. She grew up in Warner Robins and graduated from Northside High School in 1985 and later attended Macon Junior College for a short time. She got married and traveled for several years before returning to her hometown in the early 90s. She had several positions, including the General Manager of Tan-fastic for many years and teaching preschool at the Centerville United Methodist Church, a job she dearly loved. LeWanna loved people. Her true passion was children. She was the best stepmom anyone could ever ask for and it was a responsibility that she cherished and enjoyed. In her free time, LeWanna loved going to the beach, particularly Panama City Beach. She loved her church family at Milstead Baptist Church. She loved her dogs, Curtis, Bonnie, and Clyde. More than anything, she loved her family. The only thing bigger than her smile was her heart. She never met a stranger and was loved by so many.

LeWanna was preceded in death by her parents, Carolyn Clements Murphy and Bobby Couey, and her sister, Shelia D. Broom.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her fiancé, Miles Murray and children, Branden Murray, Kiley Murray, and Malorey Murray; stepfather, James Kay Murphy; nieces and nephews, Robby Britt (Kimberly), Shelley Tatum (Roderick), and Crissy Collins (Zachary); along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends who were all very important to her.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, LeWanna will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of LeWanna Patterson to Milstead Baptist Church at 1613 Main Street NE, Conyers, GA 30012.
