Lola Brookins Bananto

March 6, 1938 — October 29, 2021

On the evening of Friday, October 29, 2021, Lola Brookins Bananto, joined her eternal companion, John Daniel Bananto, and their son, Danny Bananto, in Heaven. She was 83.

Lola was born in Collingswood, New Jersey on March 6, 1938, and grew up in Mobile, AL and Pensacola, FL. In 1949, she moved to Warner Robins where she attended Warner Robins High School and met her one true love, John. They were married in 1955 while Lola was still a Junior at WRHS; she graduated the following year. Following graduation, she attended Crandall Business College for a short time and made a career as a medical transcriptionist. John served in the military for 13 years while Lola proudly settled into a life of being a military wife and raising her family. She worked in the medical field everywhere they went. Lola eventually retired from Coliseum Medical Centers with 40 years in the workforce under her belt. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, spending time outdoors, thrift shopping, fishing, and genealogy. Lola was also a devoted member of Centerville United Methodist Church and set a wonderful example for her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Daniel Bananto; her son, Danny Bananto; her parents, Henry F. and Marguerite Fredrickson Graham; and her siblings, Marie Duncan, D.C. Brookins, Adolf Brookins, Nan Harvey and Frank Brookins.

Lola is survived by her loving children, Karen Bananto Boyd (Kent) of Hopkinsville, KY, Terri Chapman (Keith) of Ellijay, GA and Mark Bananto (Ginny) of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Jill Harriston (Cortez), Rena Shaw, Ryan Chapman (Nicole), Alexandria Mignone (Christopher), Dillon Bananto, Adam Bananto and Gracie Bananto; great-grandchildren, Cameron Brown, Hope Sutton, Riley Sutton, John David Sutton, Jaxon Wease, Kiyah Harriston, Bradley Chapman, Finley Chapman and Isabella Lola Mignone; sister, Janet Hester of Warner Robins; and a number of adoring nieces and nephews.
