Lorie Wittenberg, 70, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.
Lorie was born on January 26, 1948 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. At the age of two she was adopted by the late Earnest and Edna Deiter. She married David Edward Wittenberg. Lorie was a devoted member of Sandy Valley Baptist Church. She loved helping others and worked as a nurse’s aide until she had her three beautiful children. Lorie then became a loving mother and a fantastic homemaker. She was the best mom to her children and did a great job at raising them. Lorie enjoyed taking them camping and teaching them how to swim. Her favorite pastimes included quilting, crocheting, painting, Christmas crafts, and making flower arrangements.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Mike Wittenberg (Kelly) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Debbie Stanfill of Pelion, South Carolina, and Jim Wittenberg of Culloden, Georgia; as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The memorial service celebrating Ms. Wittenberg’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2018, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
