Loree Moss Anthony

December 1, 1943 — December 13, 2016

Loree Anthony walked through the Pearly Gates early Tuesday morning, December 13, 2016, casting her wheelchair aside. Her family walked her Home.

Loree was born Dec. 1, 1943, the youngest of three children to the late Eugene and Sada Moss. She grew up in Greenwood, South Carolina and graduated from Greenwood High School in May 1962. She married A2C Dave Anthony on June 1, 1962. Early in their marriage the Air Force moved them many times, from South Carolina all the way to Alaska. Loree took care of their two young girls, often alone, when Dave was deployed. She took the role of wife and mother very seriously and managed on a military household income. When they left the military, they moved to Ankeny, Iowa where Loree worked in the kitchen at Faith Baptist Bible College. The students there loved her. In 1977 they moved to Rantoul, Illinois where Dave was a minister, and Loree took on the role of pastor's wife. Later on, she worked at the Chanute Street Laundromat and then at the Rantoul Press. She stopped working outside the home when MS, diabetes, and kidney disease took their toll on her body. Loree and Dave moved to Byron, Georgia in 2008.

Loree was an avid reader and worked the daily crossword puzzle. She was known for her beautiful handwriting.

Loree loved the Lord. She never tried to draw attention to herself; her focus was on others. She had simple tastes and a quiet sense of humor.

Loree is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dave Anthony; her sister, Donna Moss of Columbia, South Carolina; her sister-in-law, Bessie Moss of Cayce, South Carolina; daughters, Pamela Anthony of Warner Robins, Georgia and Michele Dunker (Dan) of Bennett, Colorado; grandchildren, Brayton Overton (Vanessa), Brittany Overton, and Monique Szczepanik (Joe); great-grandchildren, Jr. Overton, Anthony Overton, Chloe Overton, Arianna Stewart, and James Szczepanik. She was predeceased by her brother Ernest "Bud" Moss.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home in Warner Robins, GA. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Rev. Isaac Davis officiating.
