Louise Bernice Gilmer

Louise Knight Gilmer, 80, of Warner Robins died Sunday, July 31, 2011.

Mrs. Gilmer was born on May 28, 1931 in Bleckley County to the late Albert and Mary Frances Knight. She was also predeceased by her brother, Lawrence Knight, also of Bleckley County, Georgia.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence Gilmer, Warner Robins; three daughters, Kathy (Rick) Carithers, Augusta; Terri (Wayne) Payne, Bonaire; Jacki McMillan, Warner Robins; one sister, Peggy Cranford (Leo), Lizella; four grandchildren, Laurie (Travis) Ferguson, Charleston, South Carolina; Tammy (Kelly) Hardin, Byron; Billy (Kesha) Laseter, Warner Robins; and Wendy (Dory) Hoffman, Warner Robins; six great grandchildren, Kael Crews, Byron; Noah Ragland, Presley Dillard and Reese Ferguson, all of Charleston, South Carolina;Zachary Inglett, Warner Robins; Peyton and Karsyn Laseter , Warner Robins; Nieces, Sarah Grier and Angel (Mike) Elliott, Lizella;

Our mother was a woman who walked to the beat of her own drum. She had a terrific sense of humor and always had her hair and make-up on before she left the house in the true fashion of the Southern Belle she was. She renamed herself and decided to be called "Penny". She was a very special "grandmommy". Rest in peace, Mama. You were loved and will be missed dearly.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 2, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
