Lozelle Nelson Cook

July 28, 1927 — May 5, 2016

On the evening of Thursday, May 5, 2016, Lozelle Nelson Cook went to join her beloved husband, Joseph Homer Cook in Heaven. She was 88.

Lozelle was born to the late Joe Tom and Rebecca Boney Nelson on July 28, 1927. She was a skilled seamstress using her talent for over 30 dedicated years at Belk, formerly known as Belk Matthews. A woman of faith, Mrs. Cook was a proud charter member of Second Baptist Church where she taught children's Sunday school. She was also a member of Green Acres Baptist Church and most recently of Shirley Hills Baptist Church. Lozelle also enjoyed devoting her time to the Woman's Missionary Union (WMU), enjoyed gardening and was a wonderful cook. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lozelle was preceded in death by her sister, Jolene Cook; and her brothers, Johnny and Charles Nelson.

She leaves her memory behind with her loving daughter, Karen Cook Hall (Ron) of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Jessica Hall of Lawrence, Kansas and Stephen Hall of Warner Robins; sister, Mary N. Lowery (Charles) of Dublin; and a host of adoring nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to give a heartfelt 'thank you' to Gramps 'N Grannies, Antebellum Grove Assisted Living, and to Homestead Hospice for the special care given to Mrs. Cook.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 9th in Magnolia Park Cemetery where Mrs. Cook will be laid to rest. The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Lozelle's brother-in-law, The Reverend Charles Lowery will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Lozelle to the International Mission Fund (Southern Baptist Convention) - Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, P.O. Box 6767, Richmond, VA 23230-0767.
