Lt Col Jack Byron Abrams, Usaf (Ret)

Jack Byron Abrams, 97, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 26, 2012.

Mr. Abrams was born on April 11, 1915 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Maurice and Ada Stacks Abrams. He was a member of The Assembly at Warner Robins Church. Jack received his Doctorate in Psychology from Ohio State University. With pride and honor, Lt Colonel Abrams served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring after a distinguished career of dedication. A Navigator, his battles and campaigns included Europe, France, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Air combat over Tripoli and Malta, Sicily, and the Naples-Foggia campaign in Italy. Lt Col Abrams received many distinguished decorations, medals and awards. He received an Air Medal with 8 Oak Leaf Clusters, Letters HQ 99th Bomb Group-Sections 111 and IV, European African Middle Eastern Medal with 6 Bronze Stars, American Theater Ribbon, American Defense Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge and many other medals and ribbons. He will be fondly remembered as a loving family man and true American Patriot.

His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Moore Abrams, Centerville; son, Mark David Abrams; Mason, Ohio; daughter, Deborah Ann Abrams, Indiana; step daughter, Linda Menendez, Gainesville, Georgia; three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Inurnment will take place in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
