Lt. Col. James E. Pate, Usaf (Ret.)

James E. Pate, 81, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 21, 2014.

James was born on March 29, 1933 in Blue Mountain, Alabama to the late Clarence F. and Cora Jones Pate. With pride and honor, he served our country in the United States Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars before retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. James proudly earned a Master's Degree in Business from Auburn University.

An avid outdoorsman, he was an accomplished bass fisherman and member of International City Bass Masters. James also enjoyed hunting. He called Central Baptist his church home and was a much-loved member of Pete Joyner's Sunday School Class.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lois A. Pate.

James' memory will forever be treasured by his loving children, Ritchie Pate (Leanne) of Byron and Kerri Lynn Pate and Roger W. Pate, both of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Justin E. Pate, Michael Pate, Ashley Wells (Ben), Nathaniel Pate and Esta Grace Pate; great-grandchildren, Immanuel, Lilah and Adina Wells; siblings, Charles Pate (Doris) of Andalusia, Alabama, Clarence F. Pate (Pat) of Weaver, Alabama and Miriam Trainer (Doug) of Round Rock, Texas; and several adoring nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 26, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 27, 2014 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given In Memory of James E. Pate to The Children's Hospital Navicent Health, 777 Hemlock Street, Macon, GA 31201 or Alzheimer's Association, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201.
