Lt. Col. Paul Patrick Clement, Usaf (Ret.)

April 7, 1948 — September 1, 2020

Paul Clement passed away early on the morning of Tuesday, September 1, 2020. He was 72.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Paul was the son of the late Hector Joseph and Regina Doyle Clement. On his own accord, Paul joined the United States Air Force at the height of the Vietnam War and courageously served his country for several years before retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. Following his time in the military, Paul went to work on Robins Air Force Base at the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) as a Personnel Readiness Supervisor and was considered a mentor to many of his employees. After many years, Paul retired a second and final time.

Paul understood the importance of education and was a strong advocate for it. Each of his children graduated with college degrees. Paul enjoyed reminiscing and telling interesting stories of his military and civilian careers. Paul had a way of making anyone he met feel at ease. He forged instant bonds with people, so much so that many would open up and tell him their life stories.

He spent his days of retirement gardening and was a master naturalist. Paul’s favorite sport was hockey, and he enjoyed watching the Detroit Red Wings. He also liked to watch college football and attend his granddaughter’s volleyball games. Paul was of the Catholic faith. Above all these things, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 30 years, Priscilla Clement of Warner Robins; children, Kimberly Sheram (Roy) of Marietta; Jayne Bishop (David) of Warner Robins; Travis Clement of Atlanta; grandchildren, Allyson Bishop, Zach Sheram, Joseph Sheram, Lily Grace Sheram; brother, Keith Clement (JoAnn); sister, Karen Wion; brother-in-law, Frank Jackson (Karen); sisters-in-law, Carol Moltz (Tom), and Janine Jackson; were his Shar Peis, “Izzie” and “Talia”.

A graveside service celebrating the life of Mr. Clement will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at Bonaire Cemetery.

For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
