William Franklin "Frank" Harmon, Sr., 81, took his final flight on Wednesday, October 23, 2013.

Mr. Harmon was born on September 18, 1932 in Union, Mississippi. He was a dedicated member of Trinity United Methodist Church involved in any capacity he was needed to serve. Frank was a strong supporter of Reverend Joyce Payne's missionary missions. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Mississippi State University and continued his education at various universities, proudly earning three master's degrees. With pride and honor, Lt. Col Harmon served his country in the United States Air Force for twenty-four years, where he was a KC 135 Tanker Pilot. Lt Col Harmon served during the Vietnam era. During his distinguished career he received multiple awards, commendations, and decorations including a Bronze Star Medal and an Air Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters. Following his military retirement, Frank worked for the Houston County Sheriff's Department for thirteen years and for several years served as Bailiff at the Houston County Courthouse. He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and dedicated much of his time to supporting others. A loving man of faith, he had a servant's heart and was proud to serve his community as a Shriner. His parents, John Monroe Harmon and Annie Laura Cooksey Harmon; one sister and three brothers, all preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife of eighteen years, Grace M. Harmon, Warner Robins; children, William Harmon (Mary Beth), Gray; Mary Katherine Persinger (Frank), Clifton Forge, Virginia; Laura Taylor, Kathleen; Nancy Statler, Clifton Forge, Virginia; Sam Harmon (Jennifer), Byron; stepson, David Price Lewis (Renee), Eustis, Florida; fifteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 27, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 28, at Trinity United Methodist Church. Interment with full military honors will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Andersonville National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous Building Fund, 1001 Carl Vinson Parkway, Centerville, Georgia 31028 or to Trinity United Methodist Church Building Fund, 129 South Houston Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
