Msgt. Bobby Lee Owens, Usaf (Ret.)

November 12, 1941 — August 2, 2016

Bobby Lee Owens was welcomed into heaven by Jesus Christ, his personal Savior, on August 2, 2016. Bobby was born on November 12, 1941, in Manchester, Georgia. Bobby retired from the USAF as a Senior Master Sergeant. He served at several air force bases in the US, Greenland, the Philippines, Okinawa, and Taiwan. He was honored to be a Viet Nam Veteran. He worked for Hawaiian Air, Zantop Airlines, and TIMCO Aviation Services at the Lewis B. Wilson Airport in Macon, Georgia. The Federal Aviation Administration awarded him the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award for more than 50 years of meritorious service. He retired from TIMCO with 53 years of full-time work in the field of aviation. He was a faithful volunteer at the RAFB Museum of Aviation.

Bobby was an honorable man who lived his life in service for others. He was a dedicated Christian who supported many missionaries and children's homes in the US and abroad. He was a radical Georgia Bulldog fan. He was nicknamed Mr. National Geographic because of his outstanding photography. Bobby grew show quality roses.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Riley Tebe and Aline Jordan. He is survived by Dr. Dawn, his wife of 48 years, two daughters, Leslie Owens-Park (Charlie) of Fernandina Beach, FL, and Monica Owens Doyle (Michael) of Midpines, CA, and two brothers, Chuck Owens and Terry Jordan. Bobby was known as "Ba" to his two cherished grandchildren that were the delight of his life, Jackson Owen Doyle and Bridgette Doyle.
Visitation with Bobby's family will be Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at The Assembly at Warner Robins. At 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 8, 2016, Bobby will be laid to rest in Andersonville National Cemetery with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Bobby Owens to the Museum of Aviation Foundation, P.O. Box 2469, Warner Robins, Ga 31088, World Missions, care of The Assembly at Warner Robins, 6040 Watson Blvd, Byron, Ga 31008, or Vietnam Veterans of America, www.vva.org.
