Msgt. Edward J. Tesseniar, Usaf (Ret.)

January 20, 1937 — January 23, 2021

Edward J. Tesseniar, 84, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 23, 2021.

Edward was born in Tryon, Polk County, North Carolina to the late Cecil and Gladys Tesseniar on January 20, 1937. He grew up in Caroleen, North Carolina where as a boy, he enjoyed climbing trees, playing in the woods and rivers, and taking care of the farm with his father and brothers. He was a 1955 graduate of Tri High School and proudly joined the United States Air Force where he served during the Vietnam War. In the military, Edward was an aircraft mechanic and worked with missiles and in administration before retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. Subsequent to his military career, he worked with Boeing in Saudi Arabia as a supervisor in maintenance and moved to Warner Robins in the 1990s.

Edward was a longtime member of Shirley Hills Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and on a number of mission trips. He was also a great handyman, and along with other men in the church, used his skills to help people in need. Aside from fixing things, Edward enjoyed going for walks, fishing, working in the yard, and using his “green thumb” to garden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Thelma Tesseniar; and his siblings, Paul Tesseniar, William Tesseniar, and Janie Tesseniar.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 61 years, Joan Earley Tesseniar of Warner Robins; children, Stephen “Steve” Wayne Tesseniar of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Patricia “Trish” Tesseniar Doyle (Barry) of Warner Robins, and Laura Tesseniar White (Jody) of McDonough; grandchildren, Joshua Tesseniar and Chris Tesseniar (Lacey), Alex and Allie Doyle, Aubrey Oglesbee (Chad) and Taylor White; great-grandchildren, Laney and Levi Oglesbee; and brothers, Bobby Tesseniar and George Tesseniar.
