Msgt. James E. Lane, Usaf (Ret.)

James Lane, 82, passed away at the Georgia War Veterans Home on Wednesday, May 25, 2016.

James was born on December 23, 1933 in Paducah, Kentucky to the late Raymond and Thelma Creason Lane. He was an active member of Centerville Methodist Church and Emmaus. With great pride and honor James served in the United States Air Force for many years, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. Following his retirement, he began his real estate career at Lane Reality at Lake Sinclair. James was an avid fisherman, golfer, and Kentucky Wildcats fan. In his spare time he enjoyed playing and refereeing basketball for many years.

Along with his parents, his loving wife of 35 years, Juanita Lane, son, Gary Lane, and daughter, Beverly Lane, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his daughter-in-law, Candy Lane of Warner Robins; stepsons, James Marshall and Ronny Marshall; grandchildren, Jacob Lane of Savannah; Lexi Lane, Joshua Lane, and Nicholas Lane, all of Warner Robins; brothers, R.T. Lane and Ronnie Lane, both of Paducah, Kentucky; Larry Lane of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina; sister, Nancy Long of Calvert City, Kentucky, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with James's family will be Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, 2016 in the chapel of McCullough. Following the service, James will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery next to his loving wife the late Juanita Lane, with military honors.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of James E. Lane to the Alzheimer's Association, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, Ga 31201.
