Msgt. Jon P. Francis, Usaf (Ret.)

On the evening of Wednesday, December 12, 2018, Jon P. Francis passed away peacefully at home following a brief illness. He was 71.

Jon was born in Erick, Oklahoma on June 11, 1947 to the late Alzary and Imogene Goodner Francis. He was of the Protestant faith. Jon was a proud 22-year United States Air Force Veteran who served his country in the Vietnam War and retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. In his retirement, he held various part-time jobs; Houston County Sheriff’s Department and Packaging Corp. in Macon to name a couple. Traveling, photography, RV’ing, and spoiling his dogs were his favorite ways to spend his free time. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a compassionate person who never met a stranger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald and Charley Francis.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 49 years, Susan Francis of Warner Robins; son, James “Paul” Francis of Las Vegas, Nevada; granddaughter, Brianna Francis of Las Vegas, Nevada; brothers, Jimy Francis of Amarillo, Texas and Don Francis (Marilyn) of Erick, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Jon’s life will be held at a later time.
