Norman Simmons, 70, entered into rest on Friday, November 20, 2009.

Mr. Simmons was born on March 11, 1939, in Brewton, Alabama. With pride and honor he served his country in the U.S. Air Force for twenty-two years and participated in the Vietnam Conflict. He subsequently was employed in civil service at Robins Air Force Base as an aircraft mechanic until his retirement in 1996. Bonaire United Methodist Church was his church home. His parents, Samuel Edward Simmons and Edith Rochelle Powell, and sister, Edith Redmond, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, Carlynn Simmons, Bonaire; daughter, Kindra Lopez (Juan), Boerne, Texas; sons, Michael Simmons (Donna), Byron and Kyle Simmons, Utah; daughter, Sandra Simmons, Iowa; and Alan Simmons, South Carolina; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; special sister, Joyce Simmons, Macon; six nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 23, 2009, at Bonaire United Methodist Church.Chapel In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bonaire United Methodist Church Building Fund, 144 Elm Street, Bonaire GA 31005.
