August 4, 1934 — August 14, 2016

Following his military career, he went on to retire from the Georgia Department of Transportation as a law enforcement officer. Woodworking was one of Mr. Baker's favorite pastimes along with being a Boy Scout leader on Robins Air Force Base for several years. A good friend and mentor to so many, Phil will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert T. and Mildred Wheeler Baker; grandson, Stephen Dominy; and sister, Patricia Rhoads.

His memory will forever be treasured by his devoted wife of 60 years, Virginia Baker of Warner Robins; children, Russell L. Baker (Mary) of Coalmont, Tennessee, Sylvia Baker Goulding (Bill) of Warner Robins, and Shannon E. Baker of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren, Gary Baker (Iantha) and Lori, Nathan, and Robby Baker; great-grandchildren, Alissa, Kayla, Heather, and Jenny Baker, Chad and Dylan Dwyer, and Lainey Jo Wilkes; brother, Harold Baker; many nieces and nephews; and close friends, Tom and Donna Walmer, John and Vickie Wasko, and Pam Henley.
