Msgt. Robert L. "Bob" Futrell, Usaf (Ret.)

Bob Futrell, 88, held hands again with his beloved wife, Betty L. Futrell in Heaven, on Thursday, June 11, 2020.

Born in Conway, North Hampton County, North Carolina, on August 29, 1931, Bob was the son of the late Adgie Roby and Ethel Mulder Futrell. He loved his country and proudly served in the United States Air Force having attained the rank of Master Sergeant before retirement. Bob retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base as an Industrial Engineer Technician, as well.

Bob was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where he was active in the Adult Sunday School class. His fervent faith in the Lord was apparent as he loved serving Him by serving others. Bob dedicated countless hours of his time volunteering and serving as a board member for Habitat for Humanity. For fun, he enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and making country crafts. Bob’s devotion to his family and helping others in need will forever be carried in the hearts of all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William Earl and Augustus Roby Futrell.

Those left to cherish Bob’s memory are his loving daughters, Sharon Martin (Bobby) of Oglethorpe and Lori Adair (Richard) of Kathleen; grandchildren, Angela Cannon (Jamey), April Martin, and Rebecca Medlin (Chantz); great-grandchildren, Aiden Hobbs, Haley Stewart (Preston), and Kelsi Cannon; great-great-grandson, Elliott Stewart; and sisters, Virginia Hall and Peggy Rook, both of North Carolina.

Due to Covid-19, all services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be given in memory of Bob Futrell to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 303 Mary Lane, Warner Robins, GA 31088 or Houston County Habitat for Humanity, 955 Watson Boulevard, Warner Robins, GA 31093.
