Msgt. William Roy Redmon, Usaf (Ret.)

December 31, 1930 — December 14, 2016

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, December 14, 2016, 85-year-old Roy Redmon passed away peacefully at his home.

Roy was born in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Roy and Minnie Glover Redmon on December 31, 1930. As a young child, he moved with his family to Fort Wayne, Indiana where he was raised. Following high school graduation, Mr. Redmon attended Purdue University for two years until his father passed away. He then fulfilled the promise he made to his dad by joining the United States Air Force where he met this wife, Mary. Roy and Mary were married on May 29, 1958 and together raised four lovely children. He retired from the Air Force with the rank of Master Sergeant and went on to retire from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base, as well.

Mr. Redmon loved working in the yard with his flower and vegetable gardens, but first and foremost, he enjoyed taking care of his family. He will always be remembered as a devoted husband, attentive father, doting grandfather, and caring brother.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Beverly Myers, Robert Redmon, and Marcella Ort.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Alice Redmon of Warner Robins; children, Michael J. Redmon of Jefferson City, Missouri, Sharon Marie Redmon of Warner Robins, Glenn A. Redmon of Warner Robins, and Michelle Johnson of Billings, Montana, and; grandchildren, Laura Anne Johnson, Jennifer Lee Jones, Kimberly Lynn Johnson, and Lucas Housel; and great-grandchildren, Sephora Edissa Jones, Ezri Adele Jones, and James Tyndle Jones.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 16th in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Following the service, Roy will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Mausoleum.
