Maj. Allan M. Ramsey, Jr. USAF (Ret.), 89 peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at the Phoenix at Lake Joy.

The son of the late Allan McLaurin Ramsey and Mazie Olive Rich Ramsey. Mr. Ramsey was born on December 24, 1931, in Bainbridge, GA. Allan was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan and Atlanta Braves fan. He went to the Georgia Military School and then graduated from Bainbridge High School. After high school, he went to the University of Georgia where he was then recruited and enlisted into the Air Force.

He met and married Zoy A. King from Waverly, LA while stationed at Barksdale A.F.B. He was a Radar Navigator on B-47/52’s, during the Vietnam war. He retired at Robins A.F.B. as a ballistics instructor. After retirement he obtained his real estate license and worked in residential real estate in Warner Robins and Hawkinsville. He moved on to commercial real estate in the Atlanta area.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Ramsey was preceded in death by his loving wife, Zoy; infant daughter, Janet; and son-in-law, David R. Cooper.

Above all, Mr. Ramsey had a deep and unfailing love for his family and friends and he will be sincerely missed. His memory will forever be treasured by his sister, children, and grandchildren. Sister, Nancy R. Perkins and her children Cary Perkins and David Perkins (Lisa). Children, Lisa R. Stokes (Patrick) and their children Lacey Hinson (Joey), Taylor Stokes (Corinne) and Hayley Lewallen (Kevin); Thomas “Tom” Allan Ramsey (Elizabeth), Laurin Ramsey (Justin Roeland) and Kate Pritchett (Taylor); Michael “Mike” King Ramsey (Michele), Megan and Matthew Ramsey; Dina R. Cooper (David); James “Jim” David Ramsey (Victoria), Nick Ramsey (CeCi), Jake and Ella Ramsey; six great-grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.
