Maj. Jack Dickson Armistead, Usaf (Ret.)

November 22, 1939 — December 31, 2019

Jack Dickson Armistead, age 80, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 31, 2019.

Jack was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, on November 22, 1939, to the late Thomas Landon and Dail Bruce Armistead. A proud United States Air Force Veteran, he worked in military communications and retired having attained the rank of Major. Before entrance to the military, he worked as a land surveyor for the Louisiana oil fields and for Highlights Magazine. Jack was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Hope Sunday school class. He was also a member and Past President of the Warner Robins Lions Club, a member of the Historical Society, and published a senior adult newspaper called the “Mellow Times.” Jack was a man of great knowledge, never met a stranger, and possessed a true servant’s heart.

He is survived by many dear friends and his church family.

A memorial service celebrating Jack’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2020, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Craig Hutto and Marty McLeod officiating. Friends are invited to visit following the service at the funeral home. Jack will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Jack’s wishes were for memorial donations to be given to Trinity United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund, 129 S. Houston Rd., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
